New Coverage Report Map Brings Data-Driven Reports of Cellular Performance In Every ZIP Code

An all-new map brings never-before seen cellular performance data to CoverageMap Pro

Map of the United States colored by what carrier has the best performance in each county

Have you ever wanted a detailed analysis of cellular performance in your area?

An analysis with percentages of excellent, great, good, poor and no coverage for each of the carriers?

An analysis with median download and upload speed? Speed distribution curves? And even how performance changes based on time of day?

If so, you are going to love our new map.

Today, we are excited to announce our new Coverage Report Map that brings you these features!

The Coverage Report map is a map of the United States where you can select any state, county, city, or ZIP code.

When you click on an area, you get a data-driven report of the cellular performance in that area.

Here's Maryland:

Coverage Report for the state of Maryland, including percentage covered, weighted median speeds, best carrier rankings, speed distribution curves, and time of day performance curves

Each report includes the following details:

Percentage Covered

Bar graphs of the percentage of excellent, great, good, poor, and no coverage that AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, Dish, and US Cellular have in Maryland

Percentage covered tells you exactly how much coverage each carrier has in a given area, broken down by excellent, great, good, poor, and none.

Weighted Median Performance

Table and bar graph of weighted median values for download speed, upload speed, and latency

The weighted median performance eliminates outlier results. It reveals the true real-world performance for download speeds, upload speeds, and latency on each of the carriers.

Best Carriers

A table that ranks what carrier has the best values for coverage, speed, reliability, and overall performance in a given area

The best carriers section ranks the carriers for coverage, speed, reliability, and overall performance.

Speed Distribution

A speed distribution line graph for download speeds of AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon

The speed distribution graph is one of the best ways to compare performance between carriers at a glance.

You can see how slow the bottom 10% and 25% of speeds are between carriers, visually compare median performance, and see how fast the top 10%, 5%, and 1% of speed tests are.

Time of Day Performance

Line graph of download speeds based on time of day

One our most requested features has been to show how cellular performance changes based on the time of day.

You could imagine rush hour traffic causing slower data speeds due to congestion.

But how much slower would the speeds be?

Now you can see exactly how cellular speeds fluctuate based on the time of day.

Have you ever seen this before?

The new Coverage Report Map gives you an unprecedented level of data for evaluating cellular performance.

  • You get a breakdown of percentage covered by each carrier (further broken down by excellent, great, good, poor, and none ratings)
  • You get weighted median results for download speeds, upload speeds, and latency
  • You get a ranking of the carriers based on the best coverage, speed, reliability, and overall performance so there is no guesswork involved in picking the #1 carrier in your area
  • You get a speed distribution chart for easily comparing download, upload, and latency performance
  • You get a first-ever graph of cellular performance based on time of day

How can I access the Coverage Report Map?

The Coverage Report Map is included at no extra charge in the CoverageMap Pro subscription.

If you're already a CoverageMap Pro member, you can view the map here.

Where does this data come from?

The data comes from the over 2.5 million speed tests that the community has uploaded to the Speed Test Map along with the coverage data provided by the FCC.

We worked hard to bring you this new map.

Specifically, Trevor put in over 127 hours to build this map for you all.

We hope you love it and consider supporting us with CoverageMap Pro.
