Pick the install spot before the truck rolls

Compare networks at every candidate site and mounting point from your desk. Install once on the right carrier, or plan for satellite from the start.

  • Works with coordinates, no street address needed
  • Signal and coverage at the point and within 2 km
  • Every score says whether it was measured or estimated

The problem

Every trip back to a site costs you time and money

Remote equipment tends to sit where networks are thinnest. When you guess at coverage, one install can easily turn into three.

How it usually goes

  1. 1A technician drives out with test phones to survey the site.
  2. 2The monitor goes where it's convenient, which isn't always where signal is best.
  3. 3Data starts dropping out, so someone drives back to move it.
  4. 4Some sites turn out to have no usable cellular service at all.

With CoverageMap

  • You check every candidate site and mounting spot from your desk.
  • Each device ships with its SIM set to the network most likely to perform.
  • Crews install at the spot with the strongest reception on the first trip.
  • Sites with no good carrier get a satellite plan before any hardware ships.
Where it fits

One API call in the workflow you already have

Your process stays the same apart from one new step.

How it helps

Survey the site, pick the network and provision from the office

Evaluate the site

See which networks reach each location

Send coordinates for any site and we'll return FCC coverage and signal strength for every carrier on LTE and 5G. If nothing scores well, you'll know to plan for Starlink or another option.

  • Signal strength in dBm at the point and within 2 km
  • Share of the area covered at 0.5, 1 and 2 km
  • Satellite-only sites flagged early
  • Coordinates for places with no street address
Choose the network

Pick the carrier that will actually perform

Coverage tells you a network is there, and real-world tests show how well it works nearby. Rank carriers by score and pre-provision multi-network SIMs to the one most likely to win.

  • AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon side by side
  • Rankings by performance, coverage and reliability
  • Multi-network SIMs set up before they ship
  • Fewer data gaps from weak connections
Choose the spot

Compare possible mounting spots in one request

Most sites have a few places you could put a device. Send all of them at once, install wherever reception is strongest and skip the return visit.

  • Up to 100 candidate points per request
  • Your own ID on every point
  • Poles, masts and enclosures planned around the data
  • No guesswork for install crews
Skip the site visit

Qualify new sites without a truck roll

Check prospective sites while you're still bidding, designing or planning infrastructure. That way the right mounting and backhaul are part of the plan from day one.

  • Faster project scoping
  • Fewer surveys in the field
  • Better equipment choices up front
  • Connectivity budgets you can trust
Try it

Set a minimum score for each site

Remote sites often have fewer speed tests nearby, so some scores are estimated from FCC data. Adjust the bar and see which candidate poles get a carrier and which need satellite.

Minimum score: 6.0

4 of 6 sample locations clear your bar. The other 2 need a closer look.

The data

Site survey data from your desk

FCC coverage shows where each network reaches, and crowdsourced tests show how well it performs. Together they answer a lot of what a site walk would tell you.

Does any network reach this spot?

fcc-coveragesignal.signal · coverage.*

Signal strength and share of the area covered at the point and within 0.5, 1 and 2 km.

Has anyone actually connected here?

speed-testsdownloadSpeed.count · downloadSpeed.failedCount · downloadSpeed.distance

How many tests succeeded or failed nearby, and how far away the closest tested area is.

How much should I trust the score?

summarysource · accuracy

Shows whether a score was measured or estimated from FCC data alone. At remote sites, an estimated score is a good cue to plan a quick field check.

Pricing

As little as $0.20 per site for a full check

A full check with all three datasets costs as little as $0.20 per location at volume, a small part of the cost of one site visit you don't have to make.

FAQ

Common questions

Do we need a street address?

No. You can send latitude and longitude for any point in the United States.

Does CoverageMap include satellite?

No, we cover cellular networks. When every carrier scores low at a site, that's your cue to plan for satellite or another link.

How precise are the results?

Each result covers the exact point plus 0.5, 1 and 2 km around it. Speed test accuracy ratings tell you how many tests were nearby and how close they were.

Can results go into our planning tools?

Yes. The API returns JSON tagged with your own IDs, and paid plans let you store results in your own systems while your subscription is active. If you unsubscribe, you must delete the results you kept.
