CoverageMap API

Limits

Batch size, address, country and carrier limits of the CoverageMap API, plus free trial use and caching rules.

The CoverageMap API has a few limits that keep usage fair and billing accurate. The general usage rules apply as well.

Batch size

Every plan, including the free trial, accepts up to 100 locations per request. A larger request is rejected with a 400 and is not billed, so split long lists into batches of 100.

Addresses

An address can be up to 256 characters and 20 words. A longer address is returned with an error on that location only, and the rest of the batch is looked up as normal. Locations with an error are not billed.

Countries and carriers

The United States and AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile are available on every plan. Other countries and carriers are enabled per subscription, and requesting one that is not enabled is rejected. See Datasets.

Request rate

There is no fixed limit on the number of requests. Traffic that looks abusive may be throttled or blocked.

Free trial use

The free trial is for evaluating the API only. It cannot be used for any commercial or non-commercial purpose. During and after the trial, do not use the API or data from the trial in any application, website, product, service, research, report or publication, and do not share or display that data outside the people evaluating the API.

Pay-Per-Use and Enterprise are commercial licenses. Subscribe to one of them to use the API and its data.

Storage and caching

On Pay-Per-Use and Enterprise you may persist, cache, download and store API responses in your own systems only while your subscription is active, following the terms of your license. Your right to store and use the data ends with your subscription: once you unsubscribe, you must delete all stored data, and any references to it, from your application and systems. Data retrieved during the free trial may only be used to evaluate the API.
